MEASURED DRAWING EVENT AT ELIOT HALL

Join the Northwest chapter of the ICAA for an introduction to measured drawing, a time-tested technique for better understanding architectural precedents and building up your mental library of details.

The focus of this drawing event will be Eliot Hall at Reed College, a collegiate gothic campus building built in 1912 and designed by renowned local architect A.E. Doyle.

Instruction will be provided by local architects, educators and chapter board members Meeghan and Brendan Hart

COURSE PREREQUISITES:

  1. No specific artistic training required

  2. Basic pencil drawing and drafting skills recommended including knowledge of the use of an architectural scale

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

  1. Sketchbook: Hardbound and opens flat

  2. 12” triangular architects scale with 1/8”, ¼”, ¾” 1 ½” and 3” scales

  3. Tape measure

  4. Pencil, sharpener and eraser

  5. Drawing stool (optional)
